Sipi Falls and Mt Elgon
Mt Elgon is an extinct volcano located in Eastern Uganda close to the Kenyan border. With a diameter of 80 kilometres, Mt Elgon is a massive solitary mountain that has five peaks itself. Wagagai is the highest of these peaks reaching an altitude of 4,321 metres (14,177 ft).
As it is part of the Great Valley Rift spectacular wildlife and plants can be found everywhere in this area. Spottings of elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and different kinds of antelopes will be part of the journey through the Mt Elgon National Park.
One of the highlights of the Mt Elgon National Park is the Sipi Falls with a height of 99 metres. A combination of three waterfalls separated by steep hillsides it offers one of the most majestic views in all of Uganda.
Besides all of that, Mt Elgon and Sipi Falls are also famous for coffee farming as the renowned Bugisu Arabica Coffee is grown here.
