Lake Bunyonyi

Lake Bunyonyi is situated in southwestern Uganda near the Rwandan border. The lake is about 25 kilometres long and lies at an altitude of 1,950 metres in the Ugandan Highlands. It is known as a wonderful tourist spot for swimming and boat cruises but also offers opportunities for birdwatching as it is home to about 200 different species of birds. Besides that, you can also visit some of the lake's islands or the local communities of Batwa or Bakiga people living along the sea shores.
