Mountain Peaks
The Rwenzori Mountains offer spectacular views and landscapes and some of the very view alpine conditions in all of Africa. Reaching a maximum altitude of 5,109 metres at Margherita Peak of Mt Stanley the Rwenzori Mountains are the third-highest mountain range in Africa. Besides Margherita Peak on Mt Stanley, there are four more glacier peaks in the Rwenzori Mountains namely Mt Speke, Mt Emin, Mt Gessi and Mt Luigi de Savoia. The Rwenzori Mountains are also called rainmakers which makes the climb to the peaks even more spectacular as you will pass different vegetation zones like rainforests, bamboo forests and shrublands.
If you do not fancy getting to the snow-capped peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains there are many high and low-altitude trails all over the Rwenzori Mountains National Park that over stunning views, challenging hikes or relaxing walks.
